Got a great hat? Want to be in a parade?

PORTLAND, Ore. - Do you have a funky, odd, cool or fantastic hat you'd love to show off?

If so, now's your chance to dig it out of the closet because Lulu's Vintage will be holding its second annual Portland Hat Parade coming up on Saturday, June 25.

All you have to do to join in is put on your favorite hat and meet up at Lulu's Vintage in downtown Portland. From there you'll head to Pinkham Millinery for a studio visit, Tanner Springs Park for a photo opportunity and then finish it off with a stop at Via Delizia for gelato and drinks.

We talked to Anne Weiland, owner of Lulu's Vintage, about how many people she expects to show up for the parade. She said it's anyone's guess at this point. Last year was the first year of the event and she said about 20 people showed up. But she added that it was raining and kind of miserable that day. So this year she decided to schedule it in June to hopefully get some better weather.

Now you don't necessarily need a vintage hat to participate. Weiland said last year someone wore a hat with a Barbie doll on top, for example. So don't be shy about wearing something kooky, off the wall or outlandish. And it's open to men, women and children. Weiland said last year only women and children showed up but this year's she's hoping to see some fashionable men as well.

If you're looking for some inspiration, take a tour of the famous Portland Hat Museum in the historic Ladd's Addition neighborhood. The tours are private and by appointment only but it's definitely worth going because the museum has every kind of hat you can imagine - and more. We featured the Portland Hat Museum earlier this year for National Hat Day and you can check out the photos we took to give you an idea of what you'll find there.
