Tip: Furniture moving out today at Greek Cusina | Business
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Despite the insistence of downtown Portland's "Greek Cusina" owner that its plate-smashing dinner show will go on, KATU has received a tip that the restaurant is packing up its furniture today and possibly taking down its iconic purple octopus tomorrow morning.
On Thursday, owner Ted Papas assured KATU reporters that his restaurant would remain open through this weekend - but said that what happens after that is "entirely up to the city of Portland."
Papas and the city have been engaged in a 15-year, on-again off-again battle over security and fire-protections at his building. Follow this story.
Papas had told KATU that when his contract with a city-mandated security company expires Monday, he would not renew it: “It's up to the city to do whatever it's going to do.”
