No more free bus service out of the front door

Today's the day that TriMet cuts free bus service in what used to be "Fareless Square" - and adopts its Free Rail Zone instead.

Students attending Portland State University have come out in opposition to the removal of buses from Portland's free mass-transportation options. Although TriMet's Yellow and Green trains do pass by their campus, they say the free bus rides seemed safer since many buses allowed nearly door-to-door pick up/drop off for early-morning or late-night classes.

What do you think about these changes? Will it impact your trips in and around Portland's city center?
